Dear Santa, It’s been a minute since I last wrote. Life happened and I’ll be honest with you, I didn’t always handle it well. In fact, I’ve fallen a time or two and getting back up has been a challenge. It doesn’t feel like Christmas Eve. I can’t quite put my finger on what’s wrong, but something is off. Last year I was lost in the routine of preparing to host the family. I have no hosting duties this year and I’m not certain I want to be a good guest. Full disclosure, I would most like to curl up beneath the ancestors, wrapped in a lush blanket with a good book and no one around to be responsible for. But everyone is looking to me to make this a Christmas to remember. My wish list is short this year. I just want joy. And peace. Everyone could use a little enlightenment and maybe one or two could do with a swift kick to turn their lives around.
